On November 17, 2025, Kumar Ramakrishna, Dean of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and his delegation visited the SOUTH CHINA SEA STRATEGIC SITUATION PROBING INITIATIVE(SCSPI). Collectively held the sixth SCSPI-RSIS South China Sea Round Table Conference. Nine Chinese experts from SCSPI and six experts from RSIS exchanged views and conducted discussions on the current situation and related issues in the South China Sea.

Experts reviewed recent events related to the South China Sea and evaluated its current situation and future development trends. Experts from both sides had a lively in-depth discussion on the characteristics and impacts of the Trump administration's South China Sea policy, as well as changes in Southeast Asian countries' South China Sea policies under the context of the Sino-US game. They also exchanged views on how to strengthen regional trust and practical cooperation, how to promote consultations on the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea (COC) and how to jointly build a new narrative in the South China Sea with ASEAN countries.

Representatives of both sides spoke highly of the mechanism of SCSPI-RSIS South China Sea Roundtable Conference, which was launched in January 2020 and the two parties also reached consensus on further deepening exchanges and cooperation.
